  1. I have lower back pain, can a new mattress help?

Typically, lower back pain is exasperated by sleeping on a non-supportive mattress. The muscles in your lower back are working all night to attempt to straighten your spine. By investing in a high quality supportive mattress set, your muscles can relax and, allow the mattress to support your spine.

  2. My legs and arms fall asleep at night, can a new mattress help?

Most people’s shoulders and hips are the heaviest and widest parts of the body. While you are lying down, your body weight can cause increased pressure to these areas. When your entire body weight is supported by your hips and shoulders, the increased pressure tends to reduce proper blood flow to your arms and legs. This decreased blood flow causes a tingling sensation known as “falling asleep”.

  3. I toss and turn at night, can a new mattress help?

Restless Sleep is caused by increased Pressure Points and Decreased Blood Flow to your Arms and Legs. In order to try and increase that blood flow, your body naturally tries to rest in a new position.

  4. I tend to roll into my partner while I sleep, can a new mattress help?

Rolling together can be caused by an unsupportive mattress, boxspring or bed frame. Individual sleep space can be compromised if the innerspring unit in your mattress allows side to side pulling of the innerspring. Any weakening of individual springs can also promote rolling toward that weak spot. A boxspring or frame that is not properly supportive in the center can also increase the likelihood that you will roll to the center of the mattress.

  5. I wake up at night when my partner moves, can a new mattress help?

Motion transfer is increased when the individual springs in your mattress are linked side to side. Your partner’s motion will transfer to your side of the bed if you have a mattress that is designed with outdated technology. To reduce motion transfer, buy a mattress with a support system that addresses that concern, but does not compromise the integrity of that support. High quality foams in the comfort layers of your mattress will also help reduce the chance you will feel motion from the other side of your mattress.

  6. I roll off the side of my mattress, can a new mattress help?

Mattresses with increased support will allow you to sleep closer to the edge without feeling like you are falling out. Edge breakdown occurs because we tend to get in and out off bed in the same spot and sit on the edge of our mattress. If your mattress is not designed to accommodate that use, it may tend to wear out on the edge. Getting a mattress with complete edge support will not only help reduce the feeling of falling out of bed, but it will actually give you up to six more inches of sleeping space.

  7. My mattress is uncomfortable, can a new mattress help?

Comfort is key to a perfect night’s sleep. The comfort layers (or top padding) of an old mattress may compress, causing the mattress to be less comfortable over time. Buying a mattress with high quality resilient materials incorporated into the comfort layers will reduce the likelihood that your comfort level will change over time. Lack of support will also contribute to discomfort. Your muscles may be working overtime to accommodate an unsupportive innerspring.

  8. I can see/feel hills and valleys in the mattress where I sleep, can a new mattress help?

It is normal for your mattress to have a slight impression where the high quality foam has molded to your body. This is necessary to ensure there are no voids of support causing increased pressure points to your body. This is completely normal and should be expected. Dramatic impressions of greater than 1 1/2 inches may be caused by a lack of support in your mattress, foundation or bed frame.

  9. How long should a mattress last?

With proper use and care, a high quality mattress set should last you 7-10 years. Typically, any problems that occur with mattresses do so in the first year of use. Make sure to rotate your new mattress to allow the foam to settle evenly.
